Because Women are not Humans???

Can’t get the image out of my head:
In India, a girl gets molested, in broad daylight, in public and no one lifts a finger to help her. Instead the people are videoing the whole scene. Amazing isn’t it? Shocking!!
And the News says that the police came in, watched the show for half an hour before intervening.
There were 7 rape cases reported from the same area in 48hours.
Men claiming proudly that they “eve tease” women because that’s what makes them men and that’s what women are for.
Women can walk in trousers and skirts, and get teased; they can get out in Salwar kameez and sari, and still get teased. They can even wear Burkha with Hijaab, and cover themselves from head to foot; it still doesn’t protect them from getting eve teased. And people say it’s the clothes that provoked it. Where did the logic go??

Politicians, policemen and people in high ranking posts tell us to tell our sisters and daughters to not wear short clothes (like it really makes much difference), to not go out after dark, (not even to go out for a movie after a long day at work, or hang out with their friends to have dinner, or a few drinks to kick off and relax) and impose ever more increasing restriction on them in the name of safety, while they can’t tell their sons Not to Rape.  You wouldn’t impose the same things on a man, would you? It’s abominable to think of asking a man to not do as he pleases, not to go out for drinks or hang out with his friends. If there are going to be rules and restrictions, it should be both sides, for both genders, because we are not in this alone.  We are not molesting or raping ourselves, are we?
You cannot ask a woman to abandon everything and shut herself in a room for safety’s sake. That should be the ultimate option not the initial one. She lives in this world as much as a man does; she has hopes and dreams just like a man. She wants to enjoy her life and has every right to do so too. And again, what is the guarantee that she is going to be safe locked up in her room?

Our physical weakness works to our disadvantage. Nature made us so to be able to nurture our young ones, but men used it to overpower us and suppress us.  But that’s not our greatest weakness. We are weak even within our society. We do not have their support. They do not want to shackle our perpetrators, they want to shackle us down, take away our freedom, our free will, and keep us locked in. Because people have notions, “Women are supposed to be like this, women are not supposed to be like that, women are not human beings.”

This is the 21st century. We are supposed to be civilized.
All of us know that slavery and torture still happens, but now it only happens discreetly. As and when it becomes obvious, we do not tolerate it, we raise a voice against it. Bu why is it that when a women is getting molested in public in broad daylight that not a single person, man, women alike, had the courage to come up-front and say “Stop”. The whole crowd together could have beaten the Bas****s black and blue. Why did that not happen? Why??
(Or we believe that it’s the job of only heroes. That may be Salman Khan or Sharukh Khan is going to come and save the girl. “It’s not our job.”  “It’s not me.” “I don’t know her.” – are these the excuses? Are they valid?)
Am sure everyone has heard about female feticide. It’s especially common in India.  And I support it. If you cannot love her, care for her, respect her and give her a safe environment to grow up in, if you cannot treat her equal to your son, then kill her in her mother’s womb, while she is still loved. Let her go peacefully. What’s the point of saving that child from murderer for parents, to be born and subjected to  child marriage? Sexual slavery? Gender discrimination? Rape?  The act of saving her life is worse than killing her. Let her be killed.

When I was a young kid, I used to tell my friends I would like to build a weapon that would bring an end to human population, obliterate human existence, myself included. At that time I was mostly thinking about the environment, how human activity had brought about so much harm: green house effect, ozone depletion and so on. Now I wish to make one for humanity’s sake. Let humans be killed before they  turn into ruthless savages.

If I ever find a genie, and I hope I do, I am going to ask him/her to end human race. If this is who we are, we do not deserve to live.
